Runners start Christmas with a sprint
The annual Bromham 10K Pudding Run enjoyed dry and balmy conditions and some impressive performances.
More than 500 runners were supported to compete in the festive competition around our lovely village. Parents, grandparents, ex-pupils, school staff and their spouses and off-spring, friends and neighbours pulled together to enable the event to run smoothly. This year there was a requirement to close a section of the main road and we thank Bromham residents for your support with having to do this for the safety of the runners. The organisation committee will review how this worked this year. The sponsors have also generously supported the Pudding Run again this year.
Several parents competed in the race, some with limited preparation, so well done to all of them but Bryn Read came in second in the local residents category so congratulations to him. We are particularly proud of the first and third place local runners as they are relatively recent former pupils. Well done to Lloyd and Alex!
Without the leadership of Chris Warren and his organising team this event could not happen but thanks also go to other PTA members and anyone else involved in the success of the event. The great thing about this event is that all of the proceeds will go to providing more opportunities and resources for the children in our village school. In the past year, funding has been provided for a range of class resources as well as trips and swimming lessons so it really does make a difference to the children as well as being a fun festive event.
