Outdoor learning
Our teachers understand the value of learning outside the classroom and put an emphasis on teaching in and through the outdoor and local environment. We value the wellbeing and sense of place of spending time out in our local area. Specific lessons may be planned to utilise the outdoors but we also arrange walks and educational visits which enrich the curriculum. Once a short term, classes will participate in a Woodland Wonderers session either in our wildlife area or further afield utilising local woodland and wilder areas. These sessions will have a specific learning focus but support children's spiritual growth and well-being, encouraging a sense of wonder. Additionally, our children are outside for their break and lunchtimes in our extensive grounds which have remarkable views of Roundway Hill and our adjacent fields.
