Welcome

A warm welcome to our friendly village school.

Welcome to our school website which we hope you will find useful.  We always welcome visitors in person as we believe parents get a better feel for us that way so please contact us if you would like to arrange a personalised tour and to meet our happy children.

St Nicholas Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School is central to the community within our village.  We work hard to foster positive relationships and to enable our children to build skills for life as well as a love of learnng.  Our Christian ethos and work with local faith and non-faith groups underpin all that we do.  As a Church of England school we have close links with our village church and the Methodist community who enrich our children's spiritual and moral development.  Our values of Hope, Courage, Love and Friendship are are lived out in our daily lives.

We have 3 small classes, for children between the ages of 4 and 11, who come from the village and the surrounding towns and villages.   Our mixed age classes provide great opportunities for our children to support one another, take on responsibilities and have role models to follow.  We really value children's views and our School Council has a strong role in shaping our school and leading our daily exercise and collective worship.  Our children enjoy being active and value their regular opportunities for outdoor learning in our extensive grounds, with wildlife area, and out and about in and around the village.

Our school aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum that enables all children to discover areas of particular interest whilst supporting a diverse range of needs.  We aim to offer appropriate challenge for all our children to enable them to achieve their very best in all they do.  We do this by adapting our planning and provision to reflect children's progress, supporting and challenging children as they develop. Our teachers have ongoing professional development to keep current and to develop research based best practice.

We work closely with our families, feeder nurseries and secondary schools to ensure smooth transitions through children's educational journeys.   Our school has an active PTA, Friends of St Nicholas, who are an amazing group of creative and hard-working fundraisers, organising social events for adults and children alongside the Bromham Pudding Run Committee who manage the annual festive 10K run around the village providing resources for our school.

We always look forward to meeting new parents and children so please do call to arrange a visit.
